Grilled Beef with Sweet Soy Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 750g sirloin beef, left whole

Marinade

  • 2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tbsp cumin powder
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 3 shallots, minced
  • 4 tbsp ABC sweet soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp light soy sauce

Sambal Kecap

  • 5 red chilies, finely sliced
  • 5 birdseye chilies, whole
  • 4 shallots, minced
  • 4 tbsp ABC sweet soy sauce
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

Method:

    1. Mix all ingredients for the marinade and coat the beef in it.
    2. Marinade the beef for at least 2 hours or refrigerate overnight to let the beef absorb all the flavours.
    3. In the meantime, make the sambal kecap by mixing together all the ingredients and set aside.
    4. Grill the beef on medium-high heat, 4 minutes on each side.
    5. Slice thinly and serve with sambal kecap.
